FortiGate ist Fortinets hardware-beschleunigte (FortiASIC NP7/SP5) Next-Generation-Firewall-Familie. Sie skaliert vom FortiGate 40F für KMUs bis zum 7081F für Hyperscale-Rechenzentren — mit line-rate SSL-Inspection, IPS, Anti-Malware, SD-WAN und ZTNA in einem einzigen Gerät.
FortiGate ist Fortinets Flaggschiffprodukt, eingesetzt in über 700.000 Organisationen weltweit. Die FortiASIC Hardware-Beschleunigung führt SSL/TLS-Inspection 5–10x schneller aus als softwarebasierte Wettbewerber.
Alle Modelle laufen unter demselben Betriebssystem (FortiOS); Konfiguration und Richtlinien migrieren problemlos von kleinen zu großen Modellen. SD-WAN, ZTNA, Secure-Web-Proxy, E-Mail-Filterung, einfacher WAF, Anwendungssteuerung und DNS-Sicherheit sind im Betriebssystem integriert.
Die Familie gliedert sich in drei Stufen nach Hardware-Beschleunigung: Entry (FortiASIC SoC), Mid-range (NP6/NP7 + CP9/SP5), High-end (NP7 + SP5 + Multi-Blade-Chassis). Hyperscale-Modelle erreichen 1,65 Tbps Firewall-Durchsatz.
FortiGate ist auch als FortiGate-VM auf AWS-, Azure-, GCP- und OCI-Marketplaces verfügbar sowie als FortiGate Cloud-Native Firewall im SaaS-Modus.
